DDRI Local Diabetes Research Support
For more than 50 years, DAGC has invested over $6.2 million dollars in diabetes research through grant awards to diabetes investigators and institutions in northeast Ohio, including the establishment of the Kristin C. Dietrich Diabetes Research Award and the creation of the Dietrich Diabetes Research Institute. In addition, DAGC partnered with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) to establish the Diabetes Research Center at the Case School of Medicine.
As the research arm of DAGC, DDRI continues this commitment through research awards that encourage and support local investigators in the pursuit of the causes and cure of diabetes, the reduction of complications, and the improvement of the quality of life of those with diabetes.
- DDRI Summer Internship in Diabetes Research - providing promising young students the opportunity to engage in diabetes research with established local investigators. Applications available each winter for the upcoming summer.
- DDRI Grants-In-Aid - funding diabetes research in northeast Ohio's premier medical institutions. Grant applications available each spring.
- DDRI Collaborative Grant - promoting cross-institutional and interdisciplinary research. RFA issued in spring.
- Post-Doctoral Fellowships - providing financial support during the crucial learning and training period of young investigators
