DDRI is pleased to announce the 2008 Marousch Grants
for research into the causes of children's diabetes.
Funding for 2008 and 2009 Grants-In-Aid is provided by a gift from the Marousch Trust. Valerie C. Marousch’s main charitable interests were medical research into the diseases of youth and old age. The Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland is grateful for Ms. Marousch's generosity and commitment to research.
Acceptable topics for this restricted grant include, but are not limited to:
lipid-induced islet degeneration
genetics
MODY
neonatal causes
maternal/fetal health predisposing to diabetes
mechanisms of autoimmunity identification of islet autoantigens proinsulin biosynthesis and its defects beta-cell transcription factors beta-cell development
Application deadline is September 4, 2008.
Grant period will run from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009.
